Leadership, Experience, Vision

Diogenec principals provided response to the 2001 anthrax attacks, have developed national emergency plans for the United Nations Development Program, and supervised relief missions in Haiti following the January 2010 earthquake.  We have written and evaluated hospital and major city emergency plans, created curriculum, educational programs, and training centers, and coordinated organizational reconfiguration on a national scale.  We deliver reasonable solutions to incomprehensible challenges.

Our Philosophy

Built upon concepts and relationships that emerged before – but were validated by – the events of 9/11 and the subsequent postal anthrax attacks, Diogenec is committed to the belief that natural and human-induced threats typically emerge faster than the conventional response mechanisms used to prevent or counter them.  The name Diogenec invokes the famous Greek, Diogenes, and the historical search for truth.

The Diogenec Group founders share significant operational history, clinical expertise, and strategic planning and execution experience that both predates 9/11 and has helped form the foundation for exemplary emergency preparedness and homeland security programs, including membership on the Advisory Panel to Assess Domestic Response Capabilities for Terrorism Involving Weapons of Mass Destruction (The Gilmore Commission.) In the years since its formation, Diogenec Group’s focus has expanded to include programmatic augmentation and assessment.

Our philosophy on medical preparedness drives a unique approach.  Much of the existing expertise derives from two sectors, the military and academia.  Despite a depth of technical proficiency, a large portion of current doctrine is misguided, based on an adversary that possessed a large number of combatants and highly sophisticated delivery systems, versus the current threat of pinpoint attacks at unexpected times and targets.

Diogenec Group shares an abiding belief that “boiler plate” planning is both wasteful and dangerous.  The Diogenec Group was formed to promote the next generation of preparedness, based on the belief that methods developed for the Cold War Soviet threat have limited applicability to today’s reality.  In fact, we believe that well-intentioned adherence to the conventional wisdom can have disastrous consequences if the present peril or emerging threat is not anticipated and an appropriate response planned.
