A History of Medical Subject Matter Expertise

Diogenec Group is a young firm with broad and deep roots.  Our collective capabilities represent decades of experience in healthcare, public health, academia, business, the government, and the military.  While our corporate pedigree is based on more traditional aspects of healthcare, the recognition of three factors provided the catalyst for forming the Diogenec Group:  the dearth of relevant acumen in the face of an emerging need, the rise of “9/12” experts – those with limited practical experience or who offered solutions based on outdated or impractical doctrine, and the belief that preparedness is a best practice that will improve routine operations  Select milestones in our brief history and the discriminating factors that define Diogenec are outlined below.

  • 2005  Diogenec Group LLP, formed to be a premier source of medical subject matter experts (SMEs) for emergency preparedness, homeland security planning and evaluation, programmatic execution, and technical training. The company is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business.

A single, fully integrated source of expertise, Diogenec Group can address the emergency preparedness needs of hospitals and health systems, public health, and government operations related to the medical aspects of homeland security. Our experience includes needs analysis, program implementation, organizational redesign, evaluation of state laws, and design and fielding of surge medical equipment systems.
  • 2008  Diogenec Group expands its activities to include consultative support for medical, dental, and behavioral health programs; building, training and maintenance of medical surge equipment sets; and scientific and medical research.

Diogenec Group is structured to provide relevant, forward-looking expertise, doctrine, equipment, and training. We integrate proven guidelines and systems with leading developments that address today’s threats. Continuing relationships across government, industry, public health, and academia offer access to thought leadership and operational excellence.
  • 2008  Diogenec Group selected to develop assessment mechanism for the Department of Veterans Affairs Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Programs “Mental Health Residential Transformation Plan” being performed by MathematicaPolicy Research.

The differentiating feature of Diogenec is unsurpassed expertise. The founding partners draw from significant experience in the disciplines that converge to form the medical portion of Homeland Security. In fact, each partner had an integral role in developing some of the early initiatives in Homeland Security that predated September 11, 2001. These efforts are highlighted in the biographical summaries. Diogenec Group includes a broad range of SMEs representing the leaders in several areas, in many cases the individuals who established the standards for their discipline.
