Diogenec. An unusual name for an unusual collection of talent. The name derives from Διογένης ὁΣινωπεύς (Diogenes of Sinope), the ancient Greek philosopher. Diogenes believed that virtue was better revealed in action than in theory. Hence, the Diogenec Group is committed to workable solutions for healthcare, public health, and emergency preparedness problems.
Diogenec associates combine thought leadership with solid operational expertise and experience to address intractable problems, often questioning convention in the process. Our approach follows a philosophy of Pragmatic Planning™, reflecting the fact that solutions are worthless if they do not work in the real world.
As Diogenes provocatively sought a broader truth –famously carrying a lamp in the daytime claiming to be looking for an honest man –Diogenec Group finds and implements actionable answers. This has included researching and building health system surge capacity, developing evaluative tools for residential treatment facilities, and managing a state health department contingency warehouse. Diogenec principals provided response to the 2001 anthrax attacks, have developed national emergency plans for the United Nations Development Program, and supervised relief missions in Haiti following the January 2010 earthquake. We have written and evaluated hospital and major city emergency plans, created curriculum, educational programs, and training centers, and coordinated organizational reconfiguration on a national scale. We deliver reasonable solutions to incomprehensible challenges.
Diogenes proclaimed "I am a citizen of the world.” The Diogenec Group continues this tradition as it seeks to improve the human condition through improvement in healthcare access, outcomes, preparedness, response, and human security.
